Akira isn't all that great really, in my opinion at least...there's too much story to be packed into one movie, so it tends to lose people. There's no denying its a classic in anime and a must watch though.

I should clarify that when I said Fullmetal Alchemist, I of course meant the subbed version. I cannot stand the dub of it (or most other dubs for that matter).

I'm also a big fan of Full Moon wo Sagashite and Hikaru no Go, but FMA is my clear #1. Other shows I've really liked were GTO, Azumanga Daioh, Scrapped Princess, Mai-HiME, Cowboy Bebop, Grave of the Fireflies, PlanetES, and Read or Die (OVA). There are probably more, just can't remember them at the moment. Probably a sign that I need some sleep

wow, I'm surprised no one said Chobits yet.
Is it that bad?
Well Chobits would have to be my #1 and all the wallscrolls around me would show that too.
But of course there are many more great anime to be favorites!
My other favorites I can remember right now:
Bleach
One Piece
Jubei-chan 2
Fruits Basket
Air TV
School Rumble
Samurai 7

And soon the final fantasy 7 advent children movie *drools*... although it might not be considered anime

advent children is CG animation so yes it does fall under the category now sub category, its completely different from cowboy bebop and the others. I would say it would fall in beside ghost in a shell or the animatrix.

I am also stoked to see it.. i loved the game and the story for the movie sounds great.

P.s. i thought your avatar looked like it was from advent children guess you answered my question for me

How could you not like Chi? Though I did find the show rather strange how it went from your boy meets girl(s) anime, into an intense melodrama for the last couple of episodes.

Chobits was good, but there are other shows I've seen that I liked better. "Chi" is definately one of the cuter catchphrases...that and "Gao"

Also, just remembered Kare Kano (His and Hers Circumstances). Loved that one, just too bad it had to stop after one season due to disputes with the manga author.

Thank You. My wife hates it though. But she indulges me my hobby. I love anime. I find it a great way to relax. Just to sit down and watch cartoons.
